Meet the Governors

Chris Pietroni

I first became a Governor in 2011 when my children were at Park Hill.  Both have now moved on but I'm delighted to be able to continue to support the school.  I became a Governor because I believe that giving our children a great education needs a strong partnership between teachers,  parents and pupils - something that several years on the Governing Body has only confirmed! I

was Chair of the Governing Body from 2013-2018 and I’m now Vice-Chair. I am also Chair of the Staffing and Finance Committee

Kerrie Holland

I have been a Parent Governor at Park Hill for seven years. I am the Link Governor for Key Stage 1 and the Vice-Chair of the Staffing and Finance Committee. I am Co-Chair of the full governing body.

I became a Parent Governor in 2018 - having moved to Birmingham to work at King Edward's School, Birmingham. I'm a parent of boys in year 3 and year 1, and, currently Safeguarding Link Governor and Chair of the Assessment & Attainment Committee.  I want Park Hill to offer the opportunity for all children to be the best they can be and support teachers in providing this day-in, day-out .

Razwan Ali

My name is Razwan Ali. I have been a Parent Governor since November 2016. I am also a link governor for English. I hope to play an active role with every stakeholder at Park Hill School to ensure we raise the attainment levels of our children so they receive the best possible start to their academic life.

Nick Roberts

I have been a teacher at Park Hill for seven years and a staff governor for the past three. As a staff governor, I represent the views of the staff on the governing body. I am also a member of the achievement and attainment committee.

Lorna Shaw

“I joined the Governing Body in late 2018 as a local authority governor. I am a former pupil of Park Hill and feel deeply honoured to be able to contribute to the School’s continuous success. Coming to the UK from Jamaica as a young child, I was enrolled in Park Hill School and have fond memories of the special time I spent there. Walking into the School today, there have clearly been lots of positive changes to the physical environment. However, the focus on each child’s development, wellbeing and success is still in evidence. As the Early Years Link Governor, I recognise that a child’s earliest experiences have a major impact on their future life chances. I am committed to playing my part in supporting Park Hill School to give every child a great start in life. “

Azhar Qayum

Having had three daughters and a dozen nephews and nieces pass through Park Hill from Nursery to year 6, the school feels like home for my whole family!

I have now been on the Governing Body for ten years and in that time have been a Parent and Co-opted Governor, SRE and later Pupil Premium lead governor, Chair of the Attainment and Achievement committee and Co-Chair of the governing body.  I bring to the governing body my experience as a lawyer, having graduated in law back in September 2000. I later went on to run my own business for 17 community groups on weekends and evenings.  For the past two years I have been the regional manager for an NGO which specialises in fighting hate crime. As part of this work I train volunteers and smaller organisation in political lobbying and media engagements.

Serving on the Park Hill Governing Body and working with the talented children, staff and governors has been a true privilege. I hope that together we continue to strive to keep improving and making a better future for all our children.
